Surface Preparation:
A. Galvanized Iron Roofing:
All surfaces must be clean, dry, free from dust, chalk, laitance, efflorescence, rust, grease, oil, and other foreign materials.
Wipe off oil and grease with solvent or lacquer thinner. Remove rust, mill scale, and stains with sand paper, wire brush, or other abrading methods.
Apply appropriate metal primer immediately after cleaning and drying to avoid the onset of corrosion.
B. Cementitious Roofing:
All surfaces must be clean, dry, free from dust, chalk, laitance, efflorescence, rust, grease, oil, and other foreign materials.
Remove mold and mildew growth with DAVIES® 500-XMildew Wash Solution. Rinse with water, dry, and immediately apply the recommended paint system to prevent the regrowth mold and mildew.
Painting System:
A. Galvanized Roof:
Primer/Sealer: Apply one (1) coat of DAVIES® Metal Primer or DAVIES® Epoxy Primer
Topcoat: Apply two (2) coats of DAVIES® Roofshield Topcoat Finish
B. Cementitious Roof:
Primer/Sealer: Apply one (1) coat of DAVIES® 1350 Megacryl Concrete Primer and Sealer
Topcoat: Apply two (2) coats of DAVIES® Roofshield Topcoat Finish
