Adhesives is a substance that sticks to other materials and holds them together: 

  • Definition: A non-metallic substance that binds two items together by adhering to the surface of each.

  • Uses: Bonding, sealing, coating, potting, impregnation.
  • Types: Natural adhesives, synthetic adhesives, hot melt, thermosetting, pressure sensitive, contact adhesive.
  • Applications: Automotive, aerospace, medical, electronics, food packaging.
  • How it works: The state of attachment is called adhesion, which is based on the attraction between molecules of the items in contact.
