A-Plus Tapal Seal® All Purpose Elastomeric Sealant

A-Plus Tapal Seal® All Purpose Elastomeric Sealant is a premium quality 1-component waterproof elastomeric sealant used on most construction materials. It cures fast and forms an extremely elastic, durable, and crack resistant material capable of withstanding contraction and expansion movements, water leaks and pressure, moisture, and weathering. A-Plus Tapal Seal® is ideal for sealing gaps, joints, cracks, and holes on roofs, gutters, downspouts, flashings, galvanized iron, PVC pipes, sinks, and other non-porous materials. It can also serve as a waterproofing or damp-proofing material for bathrooms, concrete gutters, balconies, and many more.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Principal Uses: Ideal for sealing gaps, joints, cracks, and holes on roofs, gutters, downspouts, flashings, galvanized iron, PVC pipes, sinks, nailheads, balconies, firewalls, hairline cracks, and other non-porous construction materials.

Coverage:

As Sealant: 18-20 sqm / coat per gallon
As Waterproofing Membrane: 20-30 sqm / coat per gallon(depends on surface porosity)

Surface Dry: 30 mins – 1 hr

Dry Through: 2-3 hours dry curing. Full strength can be achieved in 3 days

Clean-up Solvent: Water

Application: Putty Knife, Caulking Gun, Spatula

SURFACE PREPARATION & PRECAUTIONS:

1. Surface to be applied must be thoroughly cleaned, free from any contaminants that can affect adhesion such as wax, oil, grease, rust, and loose particles.
2. Sandblasting or powertool-assisted cleaning should be performed on highly corroded steel surfaces prior to application.
3. Avoid applying under extreme environmental conditions and/ or bad weather conditions. Do not apply on wet or damp surfaces.
4. If applicable, remove liquid flow through the leak before applying the product. Restore the flow once the applied product has fully cured.
5. Allow at least 8 hours curing before painting.
6. MIX WELL before using.

PAINTING PROCEDURE:

As Sealant:

1. Ensure surface is clean and dry, free from dirt, oil, and foreign contaminants.
2. Apply and spread A-Plus Tapal Seal® All Purpose Elastomeric Sealant using either a trowel, putty knife, or spatula.
3. This product cures within 2-3 hours and fully hardens to a rubber-like gasket/material in 2 to 3 days.

As Bonding Agent:

1. Apply A-Plus Tapal Seal® All Purpose Elastomeric Sealant on both sides to be bonded/jointed using either a spatula, trowel, or putty knife.
2. Join both substrates and apply firm pressure. Leave setup at room temperature for it to settle. This product cures within 2-3 hours and fully hardens to a rubber-like gasket/material in 2 to 3 days.

As Waterproofing Agent:

1. Allow concrete to fully cure for at least 4 weeks. Ensure surface is clean and dry, free from dirt, oil, and foreign contaminants.
2. On a separate container, dilute and mix A-Plus Tapal Seal® All Purpose Elastomeric Sealant with water at 2:1 ratio, respectively.
3. Using either a roller or brush, apply mixture liberally for at least 2-3 coats. Allow to cure overnight before doing other construction works. This product cures within 2-3 hours and fully hardens to a rubber-like gasket/material in 2 to 3 days.
