A-Plus Tempra Shield® Fire Retardant Paint 4L

A-Plus Tempra Shield® Fire Retardant Paint is a premium water-based architectural paint designed to delay the spread of fire by providing flame suppression and insulation at the paint’s surface. Under exposure to extreme heat, the paint undergoes a chemical reaction that releases flame suppressive materials that can significantly delay and reduce the damaging effects of fire. This product is environment and health friendly; does not contain lead and other hazardous heavy metals, and does not contain any harmful and toxic halogen-based chemicals found in other fire retardant paints.

SPECIFICATION:

Principal Uses: Can be used on concrete, gypsum/fiber cement boards, primed metals, steel, wood, and other common construction materials.

Coverage: Textured finish: 15-18 sqm per gallon / coat
Topcoat: 25-30 sqm per gallon / coat

Surface Dry: 30 mins

Recoat Interval: 2hrs

Dry Through: 2-3 hrs

Thinning: Use as supplied

Clean-up Solvent: Water

Application: Brush or Roller

SURFACE PREPARATION & PRECAUTIONS:

General Instructions

1. Mix thoroughly until homogenous.
2. Make sure surface to be painted is structurally sound, dry, and free from loose dirt and oily materials.
3. Apply at package viscosity. Thin down product with minimal amount of water only when necessary.
4. Avoid applying under extreme environmental conditions and/ or bad weather conditions.
5. MIX WELL before using.

Surface Preparation

1. Surface to be painted must be thoroughly cleaned, free from any contaminants that can affect adhesion such as wax, oil, grease, rust, and loose particles.
   2. Strip off loose and flaking old paint using either a spatula or putty knife.
   3. For metal substrates, apply at least 1 coat of anti-corrosive metal primer such as Glazer Galva-Plus® Epoxy Primer. For concrete surfaces, apply at least 2 coats of A-Plus® Concrete Sealer. Allow to fully cure before application.

PAINTING PROCEDURE:

For Concrete Surfaces:

Sealer: A-Plus® Concrete Sealer(For new concrete)
Primer: Apply at least 2 coats of A-Plus Tempra Shield®.
Waterproofing(Optional): A-Plus® Concrete Bond or A-Plus Water-Check®.
Putty: A-Plus® Concrete Putty(Interior) or A-Plus Acmelux® Cast(Exterior)
Topcoat: Apply your choice of topcoat paint such as A-Plus All Weather®, A-Plus Acmleux®, or A-Plus Fresh&Green® Paint.

For Metal Surfaces:

Primer: Glazer Galva-Plus® Epoxy Primer
2nd Coat: Apply at least 2 coats of A-Plus Tempra Shield®.
Topcoat: Apply your choice of topcoat paint such as A-Plus Acmleux®, or Glazer® Industrial Epoxy Enamel.
