Glazer® Automotive Lacquer is a solvent-based Nitrocellulose Lacquer-type paint formulated with the finest quality Coco-Alkyd resin and carefully selected pigments to give maximum performance in terms of durability, adhesion, and protection. It is easy to apply and dries rapidly to a high gloss, long-wearing attractive finish ideal for a wide variety of substrates like wood, household furniture, handicrafts, appliances, toys, industrial structures, tools and equipment.

Principal Uses: Interior/Exterior: Wood surfaces such as doors, doorjambs, cabinets, and shelves. Can also be used on properly primed metal surfaces.

Sheen: Gloss

Coverage: 25-30 square meter per gallon / coat

Surface Dry: 10-15 mins

Recoat Interval: 30 mins to 1 hr

Dry Through: 1 hr

Thinning: Up to 20% by volume A-Plus® PG Lacquer Thinner

Clean-up Solvent: A-Plus® PG Lacquer Thinner

For Wooden Surfaces:

  1. Ensure wood material is fully kiln dried/treated.
  2. If previously painted, strip off all loose and chalking paint with A-Plus Supertanggal® Paint Remover. If necessary, remove wood discoloration by applying A-Plus® Wood Bleach #1 & #2.
  3. Sand surface smooth (#220/#440) to eliminate surface imperfections. For minor surface irregularities, patch up using Glazer® Auto Lacquer Putty. For major surface imperfections, use A-Plus Polytite® Polyester Body Filler.
  4. Surface to be applied on must be thoroughly cleaned, free of any contaminants that may affect adhesion such as wax, oil, grease, moisture, and loose particles.
  5. Avoid painting under extreme environmental conditions and/or bad weather conditions.

Painting Procedure on Wooden Substrates(Duco Finish):

  1. Primer: Apply at least 2 coats of Glazer® Auto Lacquer Primer. Sand lightly(#220/#440) before topcoat application. Allow at least 1 hr drying before correcting surface imperfections.
  2. Putty: Patch up large surface imperfections using A-Plus Polytite® Polyester Body Filler. For minor surface imperfections, apply Glazer® Auto Lacquer Putty or A-Plus® Fast-Drying Plastic Wood Filler. Sand (#150) smooth before applying another coat of primer.
  3. Primer: Spot prime using Glazer® Auto Lacquer Primer on areas where putty is applied.
  4. Final coat: Apply at least 2 coats of Glazer® Auto Lacquer Topcoat color of choice.
  5. Optional: For higher gloss, apply at least 2 coats of Glazer® Auto Lacquer Topcoat Clear.

Repainting:

  1. Strip off old paint using A-Plus Supertanggal® Paint Remover. If old lacquer finish is in good condition, sand surface.
  2. Make sure surface is clean and dry before applying Glazer® Auto Lacquer Primer.
  3. Apply at least 2 coats of Glazer® Auto Lacquer Topcoat color of choice.
  4. Optional: For higher gloss, apply at least 2 coats of Glazer® Auto Lacquer Topcoat Clear.
